The Fastskin3 Elite Jammer is one of Speedo's most popular suits. It uses Speedo's Pulse Power fabric and offers many of the same features as the Super Elite model for almost half the price. Great suit!
Description
The Fastskin3 Elite Jammer is a suit designed for serious competitors and is one of Speedo’s high-end suits.
Speedo’s FASTSKIN3 suits are designed as part of a “Racing System”, which includes the suit, the googles and the cap. Each component works with the others to cut down on drag and friction. The swimmer aligns the “fit points” on each component to ensure a complete fit. The Elite Jammer is the second-highest grade, with the Super Elite being the highest.
The suit uses Speedo’s Pulse Power fabric, with is composed of 65% Nylon and 40% Spandex. The fabric offers very good compression, which is important to help the swimmer remain streamlined. The suit also has great water-repellency, thanks to Speedo’s Advanced C6 technology. The fabric feels dry very soon after exiting the water.
The fabric is joined using an Body Stability Web, which means that they have used the seams to encourage the swimmer’s muscles back into a hydrodynamic position. The fabric and seams combine to deliver what Speedo calls “energy return,” which helps the swimmer transition from starts and turns.
The seems are bonded together, which means that they are not raised, like most suits. Because raised-seems create friction, the bonded seems help reduce friction.
The only downside of this suit is that it is currently only available in a navy/red design. It’s not a bad design, but you are restricted if you want, say, a black design.
All-in-all this is an excellent suit. It’s almost half the price of the Super Elite but offers many of the same features. You definitely get a lot of suit for the money.
